Ran into this: http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.e-democracy.org%2Fs%2Fsearch.atom%3Fs%3Dsteven%2520clift%26g%3D%26a%3D%26t%3D0%26p%3D1%26f%3D0%26r%3D0%26i%3D0%26l%3D6 Sorry This feed does not validate. * line 15 <http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.e-democracy.org%2Fs%2Fsearch.atom%3Fs%3Dsteven%2520clift%26g%3D%26a%3D%26t%3D0%26p%3D1%26f%3D0%26r%3D0%26i%3D0%26l%3D6#l15>, column 137: Invalid character in a URI: |' '| [help <http://feedvalidator.org/docs/error/InvalidUriChar.html>] ... p;p=1&f=0&r=0&i=0&l=6"/> ^ In addition, this feed has an issue that may cause problems for some users. We recommend fixing this issue. * Your feed appears to be encoded as "utf-8", but your server is reporting "iso-8859-15" [help <http://feedvalidator.org/docs/warning/EncodingMismatch.html>] While I still recommend a condensed "topic digest feed" that we can display on E-Democracy.Org's home page (and topic digest feeds per group), I thought I'd try the /s/ posts feed on an interim basis. It didn't work using the latest feed2js and to be more useful presenting the "post subject - Group Name" as the title in the feed would be more comprehensible. Feed2js parses the regular atom feeds from group posts which is good. Also, on our St. Paul feedback forum someone asked about the Recent post by author from the member page and I thought, why not expand it to "Recent posts by or mentioning this member by name" and use the search feed to query and then display the results?? Finally, "Latest post" is the feed title for all of the groups ... might I recommend "Group Name Latest Posts" or "recent" posts which we find a more intuitive word than latest.

The feed now validates.
Thanks for the tip, Richard. It turned out to be quite tricky to figure out
*where* to fix the bug, but I got there in the end!
Steve, could you give an example of the Feed URL you are discussing, when you
wrote
Finally, "Latest post" is the feed title for all of the groups
When restricted to a group, all feeds from search have the group name in the
title ☺

Mr. Clift, S. Clift, Steve, Stevie, Steven: we cannot do this ☺

And that's not even getting into things such as the Asian culture in NZ
where it is common to have both the original Asian given name and the
English name in use.
When we have generalised search notifications, people will be able to
specify whatever term they like, at which time they will be able to list
all of their commonly used names.

Oh, and I also doubt that it's all that useful even on the most basic
level. If you put your name in your sig, and someone quotes the sig,
that post will match, which will result in an awful lot of false
positives (if you are just watching for topics, this isn't a concern).
