FYI - I just tried twice to register for this group, setting up a new
"test" account. In each case, just after sending me the verification
message, and after I entered my name and was about to set my time
zone, Safari crashed!
I'm using a brand new MacBook Pro with Safari 3.04
Usually, I use Firefox for all my web browsing. I just happened to be
trying Safari this time.
Best wishes,

Safari crashing during registration a known issue; the nightly builds of
WebKit (the core rendering code) do not suffer the same problem, and
Safari logs in to GroupServer fine. Wontfix ☺
I can confirm that logging in still works with the latest WebKit build
(r31030). I did not test registration ☺
Tim,
Could you please test registration with the new version of Safari
(3.1)? It will be great to know if we still have issues with JavaScript
crashing Safari — and a new version of the browser was released today ☺
Registration on GroupServer now works with the latest version of WebKit — the
code that underlies Safari. I have made some tweaks to GroupServer so posting
using WebKit also goes, so long as files are not attached. Why files cause 413
(Request Entity Too Large) errors is a mystery at the moment, but we are making
progress.
