Greetings, Explorer,
This is a topic for discussion about this group. Please use this to ask
any questions that you have about "Exploring GroupServer".
I have started this group to provide an accessible and friendly place
where people can get a feel for what it's like to be in a GroupServer
group. You can also ask any questions that you have about GroupServer -
and answer other people's questions.
When you join this group, please introduce yourself and describe your
interest in GroupServer. It will help to make this a friendly place to be.
Please feel free to use this group to experiment. If you stay in the
group, please expect to receive experimental posts. You don't have to
have anything particular to say to post here but when you do, please be
respectful towards the other members.
And with that, let the Explorations begin!
Hi and Welcome to all the people who have joined this group.
I am one of the GroupServer folks. It's great to have you here.
Please feel free to post any questions or comments that you have.
It would also be great to get a brief introduction from you. You'll see that
one person has already posted one.
Perhaps I should post mine ;-).
Hi! My name is David. I am a member of a sailing club in the UK. I have been
asked to search the web and come up with a recommendation for software to use
on our website to provide both Discussion Forums and Mailing Lists.
I have a couple of questions for Dan who, incidently, has already been
extremely helpful to me when I contacted him at GroupSense.
Is there anywhere I can go to have a play with the admin controls and even try
setting up a group just to see what it looks like?
When I go to the Home Page of a Group I find the inclusion of Current Topics at
the top of the page very distracting. It tooks me three visits before I
discovered where to find the actual Messages as the whole of the "Members can:"
section is in the same type face and looks like something for admin - not the
way in to the fundamental part of the goup. Do the admin controls allow you to
change the layout of this page in any way?
