I have posted a draft of the email-address verification message http://groupserver.org/groups/development/verify_email [You must be logged in to view the message.] I have tried to make the message clear and concise, without being too sterile, but suggestions are welcome ☺ A large, but subtle, change in the new registration system is that users are no longer verified, but all email addresses are verified. The first step towards this was taken a while ago, when Richard added the "verified" column to the email-address table. Now it is time for the next step. I will create a Verify Address form, and alter the existing email-handler for the verification message. By the way, I am finally getting around to fixing https://svn.iopen.net/projects/groupserver/ticket/234 The verification message above is the *actual* message, using the same template as the email-notification system. (You need to be logged in because GroupServer is using *your* email address for the preview!)
The text of the "Verify Address" notification is somewhat terse, as in the
following example.
To verify that you control this email account, go to the

Here is my proposed text, based on my recent suggestion for the "Reset
Password" notification.

I changed the verify email message to read as follows.
Hi There!
We received a request add the email address
mpj17 @ onlinegroups.net
to GroupServer.Org. To verify that
you control this email address, please click the following link.

We cannot use the user's name, as we do not necessary know the user's name; I
used “Hi There!”, even though it makes GroupServer sound like a door from
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy ☺
