Have you tried out the "Topc Digest" feature?
If not, I suggest that you give it a go.
Go to your profile and then "change email settings". You can change the
delivery mode for an individual group.
If you choose "topic digest", you'll receive a list of the five topics that
have most recently had a new post. There is a link to the full text of each
topic on the website.
If there are posts, the digest is sent daily. If not, it is sent weekly.
